At 14" x 14" x 20" this is the small-breed cut — it ties comfortably without swamping the dog or hanging low enough to be stepped on. Fit matters on pet merchandise: a bandana that sits correctly stays on through a walk, and a bandana that stays on keeps being seen.

Will it survive an active dog and the wash?

All edges are serged and stitched rather than cut raw, so it withstands a dog that runs, rolls, and swims, and gets washed afterwards. The sublimated ink is bonded into the fibres rather than sitting on the surface, so the print does not crack, flake, or fade out of the wash.

Is there a limit on colours or detail?

No. Printing covers the whole bandana edge to edge with no unprinted border, and there are no colour change charges — a detailed crest, a photograph, or an all-over pattern costs no more than a single-colour mark. It is decorated in Canada.
