What makes this the winter version?


Two layers doing two jobs: a polyester outer shell that breaks the wind chill, bonded to a microfleece inner that holds warmth against the skin. A single-layer gaiter stops the wind or holds heat; the 2-ply construction does both, which is what makes it the cold-weather option rather than a lighter tube worn twice.


How many ways can it be worn?


It is tubular with no fixed orientation, so it works as a neck gaiter, a face covering, a headband, a balaclava, or pulled up as a beanie — which matters more in winter than at any other time of year, because conditions change through a shift and the wearer adjusts as they go.
